Sacraments Celebrated April 26 & 27, 2025 Confirmation Mass will be held on April 26 at 10:30am at St. James in Aitkin. 14 students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Daniel Felton. 7 students will receive their First Holy Communion on April 27th at the 10:30 am Mass at St. James in Aitkin. Religious Education Classes St. James religious education offers classes for students age Pre-K through 11th grade. Our Wednesday night schedule begins with a meal for students and their families from 5:30-6:00. Classes are held from 6:00-7:00 pm. Classes begin in September and end in April/May. If you are interested in being a volunteer with religious education, please contact Jen Kinzer at [email protected] or call/text 218-839-0344. We need volunteers to help teach, substitute teach, serve as classroom helpers and with meal prep and clean up. Totus Tuus is coming back to St. James Church. For youth finishing grades Kindergarten through Grade 6, classes are June 9-13 from 9am-2pm. For youth finishing grades 7-12, classes are June 8-12 from 6-8pm. The cost for the week is $25/student for a max of $45/family.
Totus Tuus is a K-12 summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christ witness, and Eucharistic worship. The mission of Totus Tuus is to help young people develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and to understand their faith through catechesis in a way that makes the faith real to them and helps them live as witnesses in today’s world. To accomplish this, devotion and love to Our Lord in the Eucharist and for Mary our Mother is emphasized.
First Communion and Reconciliation Classes
Classes for the Sacraments of First Communion and Reconciliation are offered typically for students in second grade. Students who are not in second grade and have not yet received instruction for these sacraments should contact Jen Kinzer, DRE for information about classes and materials.
