MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
Communal Penance Service: Wednesday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church. An additional Priest will be here to help Father K.K. with the service.
Holy Thursday–foot washing: To commemorate Jesus’ washing the disciple’s feet, Fr. K.K. is looking for 12 men or boys (who have received their First Communion) to volunteer for a foot-washing ceremoney at the Holy Family Mass. Please let him know if you are willing to volunteer.
WEEKDAY MASSES: The only church door to be open on weekdays for Mass will be the back entrance to the church just outside the social hall (opposite the rectory basement/office door.)
FAST AND ABSTINENCE DURING LENT: Every person 14 years of age or older must abstain from meat (and items made with meat) on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all the Fridays of Lent. Every person between the age of 18 and 59 (beginning of 60th year) must fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. People should abstain from just meat and poultry on Ash Wednesday and every Friday during Lent. There is no obligation to fast on the six Sundays in Lent. Dairy, eggs and fish may still be eaten. A rule of thumb is that the two meals should not add up to the equivalent of another full meal. Fasting is abstaining from food between meals. Lent is the season that precedes the greatest feast day: Easter, which marks the day when Christians celebrate Jesus’s resurrection and triumph over death.
FRIDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSS: All Fridays during Lent through March 23, Stations of the Cross will be prayed beginning at 5:30 p.m. in our new church space. On all Fridays following the stations, there will be a soup supper in the Lower Social Hall. Please join us!
NEW LOCATION FOR MASS AT HOLY FAMILY: Please note that beginning with Mass on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, Mass will be celebrated in the upper Social Hall at Holy Family Church. This will include all weekend and weekday Masses until further notice. Mass will return to the church proper on the morning of Easter Vigil Saturday. CAN YOU HELP return the furnishings of our worship space by coming at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31?
